City of Olean Youth and Recreation After School Program

The City of Olean’s Youth Bureau and Recreation Department’s Fall/Winter After School Program will start up Tuesday, September 4, at the St. John’s Youth Center, 921 North Union Street.  The program will run Monday-Friday, from 3:30-5:30pm.

The program will provide healthy snacks, activities that include basketball, ping-pong, air hockey, board games arts and crafts, and more.  Homework help will also be provided, along with special holiday parties and events.

William O. Smith Recreation Center Ice Skating Schedule

The Olean Youth Bureau and Recreation Department’s Ice Skating Schedule at the William O. Smith Recreation Center is now in effect.

The public skating hours are Monday-Friday, from 11:30-2pm…Fridays from 6-8pm…Saturdays from 1:30-3:00pm AND 6-8pm, and Sunday’s 1:30-3:00pm AND 6-8pm

Olean YMCA Turkey Trot

Sign up now for the Olean Family YMCA’s annual Turkey Trot 5k fun run and walk, set to take place Thanksgiving Day, November 22.

Check in at St. Bonaventure University’s Murphy Auditorium from 8-8:45am, with the 5k starting at 9:00.

Humphrey Fire Department's Friday Fish Frys

The Humphrey Volunteer Fire Departments will serve up Fish Fries and other combo dinners on Friday nights from 5:00-7:00pm, from October 19 thru November 16.

You can eat at the fire hall, or take it out.

Accord Head Start Program

The ACCORD Head Start program in Allegany County is currently accepting applications for Children ages 6-weeks to 5 years old.

Catt Co Veterans Service Agency Visit-Randolph

A representative from the Cattaraugus County Veteran’s Services Agency will visit the Randolph American Legion on Wednesday, November 14, from 10:00-noon, to discuss Veteran’s-related issues.

Agency Director Steve McCord will hold office hours at his Little Valley Office on Thursdays, from 1:30-4:00, with the exception of Thanksgiving Day, November 22.

ACCORD Community Forum-Friendship

The ACCORD Corporation will hold a community forum addressing Housing and Homelessness on Thursday, November 15, from 5-7pm, at the Friendship Central School Auditorium.  A panel of experts will be available to discuss such issues as low-income housing, education, veterans’ services and others.  The public is invited to attend.

Zonta Club Vendor Fair

The Zonta Club of Olean hosts a Holiday Vendor Fair, featuring women-owned businesses from the area.  The event takes place Thursday, November 15, from 5-8pm, at the Christ United Methodist Church in Olean.  36 vendors will have items on display.  Admission is free…the event is open to the public.

Benefit for Faye Vilardo-Allegany

A benefit for cancer patient Faye Vilardo will take place Saturday, November 17, from 1-7pm, at the Allegany American Legion.  The event has basket raffles, a Chinese auction, other fundraisers.  Food is available, with music provided.

Hill Memorial UMC "Hollyday Faire" Craft and Vendor Show

The Hill Memorial United Methodist Church of Bradford holds its annual “Hollyday Faire” Vendor and Craft Show on Saturday, November 17, starting at 9:00am at the Church on Kennedy Street in Bradford.  Along with the vendors and crafters, a Chinese Auction will be set up, and there will be breakfast and lunch served.  The event is free, and benefits the church’s Youth Camping Fund.
